Graphic Designer

Mission:

Design is the visual communication and the aesthetic expression of concepts and ideas using various graphic elements and tools.

As a Graphic Designer, you are the visionary that brings strategic creativity to each and every project. It is your role to create visual concepts, by hand and using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate an audience. You will develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, strategy documents, social media posts, brand development, marketing materials, etc.

Job Duties:

  • Develop creative ideas and concepts in partnership with the Spark team
  • Interpret client briefs and communicate with team for clarification
  • Understand clients' products and/or services, their target audience and competitors in order to design creative and strategic communication solutions
  • Stay up to date on popular design culture and trends
  • Present ideas to Spark team and clients

Skills & Abilities:

Marketing Coordinator

Mission:

The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for leading Spark’s internal and external clients through numerous marketing communication challenges.

You are the backbone of our project management processes and bring exceptional organization, professionalism and strategic thinking to each and every project. It is your role to ensure all deadlines are met, the team has what they need to work on and that the client is kept up to date on the status of their projects.

You will be actively involved in working with the Spark team to conduct industry research, develop creative solutions, and produce strategic marketing and communication documents.

In addition to client projects, the Marketing Coordinator will contribute to Spark’s social media and ongoing marketing efforts, by planning monthly themes, developing content, etc.

Job Duties:

  • Attend client meetings on and off college campus
  • Develop client creative briefs, project agreements and summaries
  • Work with the Creative Director on quoting prospective client projects
  • Monitor Spark’s social media web traffic and social media engagement
  • Research and develop marketing and communication strategies
  • Manage client deliverables with Spark team members to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Track progress to ensure projects are not going over allocated time or budgets

Copywriter

Mission:

Copywriting is the craft of writing persuasively to pitch an idea or sell a product or service. You are the wordsmith who can pull together email subject lines, video scripts, logo taglines and other creative copy, as well as more research-based copy like target market profiles and industry sizeups.

As a Copywriter, you must be adaptable and able to create content for any type of client or topic, for any type of media, while collaborating with other Spark team members.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct research, organize information, and produce clear, persuasive, original content
  • Write copy for Spark and client work, including but not limited to;
    • Headlines and body copy (websites, social media, newsletters, etc.)
      • Video scripts
      • Training material
      • Marketing and communication strategies
  • Develop creative ideas and concepts, often in partnership with the designers, marketing coordinators and video production team.
  • Understand clients' products and/or services, their target audience and competitors in order to develop creative and strategic communication solutions.
  • Present ideas to Spark team and clients.
  • Plan content, review story ideas by other writers, check facts, offer suggestions for changes and oversee production.

Skills & Abilities:

It is expected that the Copywriter either presents the following behaviour and technical skills, or is open and eager to developing them;

  • Exceptional creative writing skills
  • Must be able to juggle a variety of client writing assignments at once
  • Outstanding critical thinking and reading comprehension skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, including grammar and spelling
  • Persuasive writer, always driving the overall strategy of the campaign or company home

Office Administrator/Social Media Maven

Mission:

To support management, primarily, on conducting daily administrative and social media tasks. You are detail oriented and extremely organized, providing support to the Spark team through your positive attitude and friendly outgoing personality.

It is your role to ensure client projects are started with the greatest of ease. You will be actively involved in the onboarding of new clients, as well as helping ensure all new prospects are responded to in a timely manner.

Ongoing tracking of expenses, ordering new supplies and planning Spark events will be key components of your monthly tasks.

In addition to your daily administrative activities, your role will be the voice of Spark on social. Using your keen social media skills, you will engage with the community to foster relationships and build our network of potential opportunities.

Job Duties:

  • Manage schedules and meeting minutes - student class time and client meetings
  • Book meeting spaces and coordinate with attendees for client meetings
  • Issue and release the monthly newsletter
  • Contribute to further development of Spark’s client process practices
  • Assist in procurement of supplies and inventory
  • Assist with financial tracking; expenses, client deposits, etc.
  • Manage Spark’s social media presence - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & YouTube

Video Production Coordinator

Mission:

To bring to life ideas, campaigns, and strategic concepts for our clients through high quality videos. Video is a visual and auditory form of communication; the aesthetic expression of ideas using various sounds, moving elements and transition techniques.

As a Video Production Coordinator, you are responsible for not only creating ideas, but executing them. From ideation, to scripts and storyboards, talent search and booking venues, to testing equipment and backing up files. You’ll work independently, as well as part of the Spark team, to produce and coordinate all video projects.

Job Duties:

  • Contribute to the development of video production and animation techniques.
  • Develop, pitch and execute creative, compelling stories through video.
  • Research and prepare for shoots, stay current with industry trends, developments, and new techniques.
  • Test equipment to determine technical quality of recording, audio and lighting.
  • Troubleshoot as equipment issues arise pre, during and post production.
  • Work with Office Administrator to schedule talent, locations and resources.
  • Technical skills and duties include, but not limited to;
  • Create and apply motion graphics
  • Light subject(s) and shoot locations under a variety of conditions
  • Organize, resize and retouch images and video clips as needed

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional storytelling ability through audio and video techniques
  • Creative and innovative mindset, with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience handling delicate equipment, such as DSLR cameras, lenses, lighting etc.
  • Knowledge of video production techniques
  • Ability to create, edit and design animated graphics is an asset
  • Knowledge of various operating systems and softwares such as PC, MacOS and iOS; Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign
  • Knowledge of management tools such as Basecamp and Harvest is an asset
